Interra to Sponsor Shred-It Days
May 20, 2019 - Interra Credit Union is once again sponsoring Shred-it Days for its members. This annual event highlights the importance of proper and safe disposal of information that can compromise accounts or identities of individuals and businesses or organizations.
Located in the parking lot southwest of Interra’s main office in Goshen, the event will be held on Friday, June 7, from 9:00 to 11:00 am and from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. On Saturday, June 8, it will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
Each Interra member may have up to 50 pounds shredded FREE. It’s only 20 cents per pound thereafter. “Last year, Interra members had almost 24,000 pounds shredded,” reports Karen Steffensen, Vice President of Communications and Community Engagement.
What can you shred? Old documents and medical records; tax records; financial, credit card and investment statements and receipts; pre-approvals and other mail solicitations; computer discs and CDs; pay stubs; expired ID cards; leases and contracts; expired credit cards, etc. The shredding company can take paper clips, staples, manila folders, duplicate check copies, old checkbooks and deposit books.
However, items that cannot be shredded include garbage, 3-ring binders, cardboard, plastic or metal.
